Planting Season
Some have called it the launch of the "best initiative in South Africa in a long time", and judging by the responses we are getting, we reckon this is going to be a BIG ONE!
Planting Season is a collective campaign by Majestic Interactive and JasonsGarden.com with a shared mission: to facilitate a collective reconnection between people and the earth by getting 1,000,000 people to start growing their own food. 22ndSeptember 2009 has been named the first Planting Day and thousands of people all over South Africa will join remotely to all plant on this day.
The website is simple and effective and shows a list of all participating companies, a live ticker showing the days left till Planting Day, as well as the total number of participants who'll be growing. People register and commit to growing an organic vegetable, and then the Planting Season team sends them info via email on how to go about doing just that.
Organisations are also encouraged to involve their staff and share with us what they will be doing for Planting Day. This is the automatically published on the website along with the many websites that are showing the Planting Season banner in some shape or form.
After signing up registrants receive content from some of the leaders of organic food production in South Africa in all related areas. There's a lot to learn if organic farming is going to be taken seriously, and we'll deliver the content to get you started fresh to your inbox so you'll be equiped with the know-how to grow your own food and teach your children to the same.
Most important is to just get busy planting and learn from experience...
